Simatic® S7 controls the MSX-Box – examples and slave server
Learn how to quickly and simply install a control of the MSX-Box with a Simatic® S7 via Ethernet.
In this case we will give you a special explanation how a S7 controls the 16 digital inputs and outputs of the MSX-Box. The digital I/O come from the PCI board APCI-1500 by ADDI-DATA which is mounted on the PCI backplane of the MSX-Box.
Your benefit when connecting the MSX-Box with the S7
By connecting the MSX-Box to the S7, you can control fast processes with the MSX-Box and further use the results in your own algorithms of the S7; i.e., you can combine the benefits of the various platforms in order to increase the efficiency of the measurement system. The two hardware devices are either connected by Ethernet or Profibus.
The S7 works as the master, the MSX-Box as the slave.
